How to find significance in life

Are you chasing after success in life or significance? How do you find significance in life? Success has its place, but it is limited, it has ups and downs, it ends the moment you die, and it never is enough. I want to encourage you to pursue significance.

So many people wake up one day and think, “Where has time gone. Where has my life gone? They’ve been chasing success that next “big thing” their entire life. Now all of a sudden they have this intense need to make their life count for something, to make a difference! This urgent desire to do something that matters is deeply rooted in our need to find significance. Most attempt to find that significance in worldly things without ever achieving it.

So, how do you find significance in life?

God tells us that our significance is not found in what we do, but in who He declares us to be. He created us to help others. If you want to make your life matter, start living it for God. Commit daily to Him and His purposes in loving others and living out His calling. Pursue God’s will in your life and you’ll find the significance you desire!

Success never truly satisfies, but significance on the other hand lasts, it continues on giving, and it is always enough. When you influence the life of someone positively and that person changes the life of another and then they impact the life of another your life is a gift that keeps giving…. that’s significance.

James 4:14 warns us, “Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.” Make your life count. Live a life of significance by helping, encouraging, and loving others.

Rarely do people look back on their lives and savor their athletic triumphs, personal feats or professional achievements. Instead, they celebrate the impact they have had in the lives of others. Give yourself much to look back and celebrate. Stop chasing success.

FIND YOUR SIGNIFICANCE  by pursuing God, helping others and resting in who He made you to be.
