Being Kind – Biblical Key for Christian Living

Being kind by Pastor Bruce Edwards

7 Biblical Keys for Christian Living

Being kind is a Biblical key for Christian living. Proverbs 21:21 tells us, “whoever pursues kindness will find life, righteousness, and honor!” That promise alone should motivate us to be kind. Treating people with kindness will help us keep our heart and attitude running in the right direction. Otherwise, we can easily become selfish and indifferent towards others.

Being Kind Requires We Take Action

When we become a believer “we become a new creation in Christ”. (2 Corinthians 5:17) As such, how we treat others should change. Ephesians 4:32 tells us to, “be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you”. Kindness causes us to take action by words or deeds to help meet the needs and concerns of others, even for those who don’t deserve it. That’s the kindness God extends to us – He forgives us, shows us favor, and helps us even though we don’t deserve it. I’m very grateful for God’s kindness toward me!  How about you?

Showing kindness towards others is within the reach of every Christian. It requires no extraordinary gift or great wealth. It’s something everyone us can and should do.  It is a ministry which anyone can fulfill. I want to encourage you to intentionally perform acts of kindness every day. This is how we are to treat others. It is a key to living the Christian life – BEING KIND!

So why not be kind, and watch the blessings flow!
